Dallas Country Club, South Ballroom | John Patton
May 22 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am
John graduated from Lake Highlands high school in ‘98, and then went to play football at Austin College while pursuing a double major in both Business and Psychology.
During his freshman year he suffered a career ending back injury and wasn’t able to play football anymore. Without the discipline of football in place John slowly began partying more which led to him causing a horrific car accident on March 23rd, 2002, just one semester away from graduation.
Due to the accident John was facing 15yrs in prison. It was only a couple of weeks after the accident when John called out to God begging for help, and God showed up in a major way. The message John received from the Lord that day changed the course of his life forever.
While out on bond, John completed a Masters degree to become a counselor, but everything was put on hold when 5 years after the accident a judge eventually sentenced him to 4 years in prison.
John now owns three sober living homes in Dallas for young adult males getting out of inpatient treatment for addiction, and works as an interventionist helping families save their loved ones from addiction. He also speaks at prisons through the Bill Glass prison ministry.
John is a member of Watermark Church and is happily married. Without the love of the Lord, and the promise he was given through Jeremiah 29:11, John would not be where he is today.
